Competitiveness clusters

The role of a competitiveness cluster?

On a given territory, a competitiveness cluster brings together – with the support of national and regional public authorities – businesses of all sizes, research organisations, and training institutions, to develop synergies and cooperation around a specific theme. This can include emerging technological fields (such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, eco-technologies) as well as more established sectors (such as automotive, aerospace, etc.).

The ultimate goal of these competitiveness clusters is to support innovation within the territories. They drive growth and employment.

Atlanpole, alongside the competitiveness clusters of the Grand Ouest

As integral parts of Atlanpole's virtuous ecosystem, the 9 competitiveness clusters present in its territory are: Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, Atlanpole Biotherapies, Images & Réseaux, S2E2, EMC2, ID4Mobility, Polymeris, Valorial et Vegepolys Valley.

Atlanpole constantly interacts with each of these clusters, fostering the co-creation of conditions conducive to innovation. This is a daily occurrence, as some of the clusters’ personnel are even based within Atlanpole’s premises (Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, Atlanpole Biotherapies, Images & Réseaux, S2E2, Polymeris) and are fully integrated into the hub's team

Atlanpole provides real operational support to these clusters by engaging as a governance member, lead, co-lead, or partner.

Developing collaborative projects

By promoting the intersection of sectors and collaboration between these clusters, Atlanpole contributes to the development of collaborative research and development (R&D) projects that bring together research laboratories and companies to facilitate the development of a particularly innovative new product or service.
