Our purpose: innovation
Atlanpole acts as a catalyst and connector, linking the expertise of academic institutions (research laboratories, engineering schools, universities) with that of the economic world (companies, competitiveness clusters, innovation support structures) in the Pays de la Loire region and the Grand Ouest Atlantique.
WHAT IS A REGIONAL INNOVATION HUB?
An innovation hub represents the convergence of public policies aimed at pooling skills and resources to support entrepreneurship and innovation through a multidisciplinary network of talents, expertise, investors, technical centers, academic institutions, competitiveness clusters, and transfer organisations. The goal is to stimulate a competitive ecosystem that creates value and sustainable employment. Globally, these regional hubs are united in a worldwide network: the IASP.
As a regional incubator for Public Research and DeepTech accelerator in the Pays de la Loire, Atlanpole offers tailored and customised support for the creation and development of high-potential innovative businesses. This initiative is carried out in partnership with Angers Technopole, Laval Mayenne Technopole et Le Mans Innovation.
WHAT IS A PUBLIC RESEARCH INCUBATOR?
Public Research Incubators (PRIs) were established as part of the call for projects provided by the “Law on Innovation and Research” (Allègre Law of 1999). Their primary mission is to facilitate the transfer of technologies developed in public research laboratories to the socio-economic world through the creation of innovative businesses. They were established at the regional level, initiated by higher education institutions or research organisations. (Source: Ministry of Higher Education and Research website.)
Atlanpole operates within the university and economic area of Nantes Université (Loire-Atlantique & Vendée) and contributes as the ‘network lead’ to the technopolitan dynamics at the regional level (Angers Technopole, Laval Mayenne Technopole, Le Mans Innovation).
WHAT IS A TECHNOPOLE?
A technopole is the embodiment of a networked innovation dynamic within an economic and university area, aiming to foster the emergence of new innovative businesses linked to Public Research that create valuable and sustainable employment. More broadly, it seeks to enhance the economic competitiveness of the region.
